IF TRAVELING FROM BRYSON CITY, N.C.
Take Highway 74 West about 21 miles to Carolina Outfitters Rafting on the left side of the road.  About 8 miles past Bryson City the 4-lane Highway (74 West) will change into an older 2-lane highway.  (Note: Highway 74 West and Highway 19 South run together, but stay on 74 West so you will stay on the 4-lane Highway 74 as long as it exits, rather than winding down the old two-lane Hwy 19) When you get to the point where the road changes into a two lane you will go about 13 miles further to Carolina Outfitters Rafting Outpost.  You will drive through the scenic Nantahala River Gorge, and you will see the Nantahala River for about 8 ½ miles as you driver through the Gorge.  After you stop seeing the river, it will be about 1 mile further to our Outpost Building.  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).

IF TRAVELING FROM ANDREWS, N.C.
Take Highway 74 East about 10 miles to Carolina Outfitters Rafting on the right side of the road.  About ½ mile before you get to our raft building, you will see where Hwy 129 North turns left going toward Robbinsville, NC.  When you see that junction, just go straight ahead on 74 East another ½ mile down a long winding part of the highway, and you will see our parking lot on the right side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (We are straight across the road from Brookside Campground).  Note that you will come to Carolina Outfitters about 1 mile BEFORE you get to the Nantahala River!

FROM ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
Take 1-40 West. Take exit 27 off of 1-40 West. Exit 27 puts you on Highway 74 West. Follow 74 West, bypass Waynesville, Sylva, and Bryson City, N.C. Continue on past Bryson City approximately 21 miles on 74 West.  You will drive through the scenic Nantahala River Gorge, and you will see the Nantahala River for about 8 ½ miles as you drive through the Gorge.  After you stop seeing the river, it will be about 1 mile further to our Outpost Building.  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).

FROM CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
Take I-85 South to I-26 West. Take I-26 West to I-40 West near Asheville, N.C. Take I-40 West. Take Exit 27 off of I-40 West. Exit 27 puts you onto Highway 74 West. Follow Highway 74 West. Bypass Waynesville, Sylva, and Bryson City, N.C. FROM FONTANA VILLAGE, NORTH CAROLINA
Take Highway 28 about 25 miles to where it runs into Highway 74. Take a right onto Highway 74 West. Go about 13 miles on 74 West to Carolina Outfitters Outpost on the left.  You will drive through the scenic Nantahala River Gorge, and you will see the Nantahala River for about 8 ½ miles as you drive through the Gorge.  After you stop seeing the river, it will be about 1 mile further to our Outpost Building.  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).

FROM GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE
Take Highway 441 South several miles past Cherokee, N.C. to Highway 74 West. Take 74 West several miles, bypass Bryson City and travel about 21 more miles until you get to Carolina Outfitters Outpost Building on the left side of the road.  You will drive through the scenic Nantahala River Gorge, and you will see the Nantahala River for about 8 ½ miles as you drive through the Gorge.  After you stop seeing the river, it will be about 1 mile further to our Outpost Building.  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).

FROM KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE
You have 3 choices on your route from Knoxville. 1.)You may come through Gatlinburg & follow our directions from Gatlinburg. 2.) You may come up 1-40 East to Maggie Valley/Waynesville, and follow our directions from Waynesville,(included in the directions from Asheville). 3.) You may take Highway 129 to Maryville and continue following 129 through Fontana Village and Robbinsville, N.C. Follow 129 past Robbinsville several miles to Highway 74. Take a left onto 74 East and go about ½ mile. Carolina Outfitters will be located on the right side of the road. Note: Highway 129 between Maryville & Fontana Village has many curves and is an isolated stretch of highway running alongside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, also know as ‘The Tail of The Dragon’ highway)

FROM CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE
Take I-75 North to Cleveland. At Cleveland take 64 East through Ocoee and Copper Hill to Murphy, N.C. At Murphy Highway 64/74 becomes Highway 19/74. Continue to follow 74 East, bypass Murphy and Andrews. Just after Andrews Highway 74 East becomes a 2-lane road. Go about 10 miles past Andrews and Carolina Outfitters Rafting is on the right side of the road. (TIP: When you see where 129 turns left going to Robbinsville, N.C., just STAY STRAIGHT AHEAD ON 74 EAST and our raft building is just about ½ mile more on 74 East.  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).  Note that you will come to Carolina Outfitters about 1 mile BEFORE you get to the Nantahala River!

FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA
Take I-75 North to I-575 North. I-575 North will become Highway 5 North, and then Hwy 76 as you go by Woodstock, Jasper, Ellijay, and Blue Ridge. At Blue Ridge go through several traffic lights & past the Ford and Chrysler Dealerships to the traffic light at Highway 60. Turn left onto Highway 60 and go to a small community of Mineral Bluff. Take a right onto Highway Spur 60 at a Red Brick Church in Mineral Bluff, and follow it until it dead-ends at Highway 64/74. Take a right and go East on 74. Bypass Murphy and Andrews. Just after Andrews Highway 74 East becomes a 2-lane road. Go about 10 miles past Andrews and Carolina Outfitters Rafting is on the right side of the road. (TIP: When you see where 129 turns left going to Robbinsville, N.C., just STAY STRAIGHT AHEAD ON 74 EAST and our raft building is just about ½ mile more on 74 East.) FROM HELEN, GEORGIA
Take Highway 75 North to Hiawassee. At Hiawassee Highway 75 dead-ends into Hwy 76. Turn left onto 76 and go through Hiawassee. Just past Hiawassee turn right onto Highway 17 North and go to Hayesville. Turn left onto 64 West and go about 10 miles. Just past Tri County Community College you turn right onto Highway 141. Highway 141 dead-ends into Highway 19 and 74. Turn right onto 74 East and bypass Andrews. The 4-lane changes back into a 2-lane just past Andrews. Go about 10 miles and Carolina Outfitters Rafting will be on the right side of the road. (TIP: When you see where 129 turns left going to Robbinsville, N.C., just STAY STRAIGHT AHEAD ON 74 EAST and our raft building is just about ½ mile more on 74 East.)  There is a parking lot right beside Highway 74 on the left side of the road, and our raft building is up on the hill above the parking lot.  (It is straight across the road from Brookside Campground).  Note that you will come to Carolina Outfitters about 1 mile BEFORE you get to the Nantahala River!

FROM BLAIRSVILLE, GEORGIA
Take Highway 19 North into North Carolina. Highway 19 begins running with 74. Continue to follow 19 North/74 East bypass Murphy and Andrews, N.C. Just after Andrews 74 East becomes a 2-lane Highway. Go about 10 miles and Carolina Outfitters Rafting is on the right side of the road. FROM HIAWASSEE, GEORGIA
Just past Hiawassee, take Highway 17 and go to Hayesville, N.C. Turn left onto Highway 64 and go about ten miles. Just after Tri-County Community College turn right onto Highway 141. Hwy 141 will dead-end into Hwy 19 and 74. Turn right and go East on 74. Bypass Andrews. Just after Andrews Hwy 74 becomes a 2-lane road. Go about 10 miles and Carolina Outfitters Rafting will be on the right side of the road. FROM CLAYTON GEORGIA
Follow Highway 441 North. Bypass Franklin, and go to Dillsboro to where 441 North intersects with 74 West. Follow 74 West, bypass Bryson City. Go about 8 miles past Bryson City and 74 West turns from a 4-lane highway into a 2-lane highway. Follow I-26 West to I-40 West near Asheville, N.C. Take 40 West to Exit 27. Take Exit 27. It puts you on Highway 74 West. Follow 74 West, bypass Waynesville, Sylva, and Bryson City, N.C. DIRECTIONS FROM CHATTANOOGA:

  1. Take Interstate 75 North traveling toward Knoxville
  2. Take Exit 20 (1st Cleveland exit), turning right onto the HWY 64-Cleveland Bypass
  3. Travel about 6 miles, look for green highway sign that reads Hwy 64 East
  4. Travel on Hwy 64 East for about 30 miles (You will pass the Ocoee Lake, Middle Ocoee, and Upper Ocoee sections)
  5. You will see the Ocoee River Basin Canopy Tours on the right. Slow down. You will see a sign that says Copper Basin Industrial Park on the left. Turn left at the sign onto Industrial Drive
  6. We are the first left. You will see our blue billboard up on the hill that says Carolina Ocoee.

DIRECTIONS FROM ATLANTA, GA:

  1. Take Interstate 75 North to Interstate 575 N
  2. Follow Interstate 575 to Hwy 515 N in Blue Ridge
  3. Take Hwy 5 N to Copper Hill TN
  4. Turn Left on State Rt. 68 N
  5. Follow State Rt. 68 N to Junction with U.S. 64 in Ducktown, TN
  6. Turn onto U.S. 64 West
  7. Follow U.S. 64 West for less than one mile into Ducktown, TN
  8. In Ducktown, TN you will come to the main traffic light. Go strait through the light and we are the third drive way on the right.
  9. You will see a sign that says Copper Basin Industrial Park on the right. Turn right at the sign onto Industrial Drive.
  10. We are the first left. You will see our blue billboard up on the hill that says Carolina Ocoee.
